The number of matches required for the bottom bracket is dependent upon which of the three brackets is being used. For 18 teams, seeds 17 and 18 play a race to two match wins. For 19 teams, seeds 18 and 19 play each other and the winner plays seed 17 who has a bye in the first round. For 20 teams, seed 17 plays seed 20 and seeds 18 and 19 play each other in the first round. In the second round, the winners play each other and the losers play each other. |
